Sunday Sermon - wk12

Sunday Sermon
Ephesians 2:1-10

Week 12/Day 7

Hey everyone, it’s Tricia. I hope your Sunday is going great and you get the opportunity to go to church today. If you are, be sure to grab your Alone With God journal and take it with you. On day seven of your journal, you’ll see space to take Notes. There’s a space for Key Points and Key Verses and a place to write Prayers for The Coming Week. If you don’t have an Alone With God Journal and would like to order one, you can head over to wordbymail.com and order one there. Even better, you can download the wordbymail phone app from your app store. Just search Word By Mail, and it will be available for download. Once you open the app, you will see the Journal Guides, and you can order the Alone With God journal there. And if you know someone who can benefit from knowing God in a better and more relational way by being in his Word each day, you can order a copy for them as well.

But listen, if you can’t make it to church today, I invite you to listen to or watch the seventh message in the Revelation series titled Dead or Alive.” This is a clear teaching on being spiritually alive or spiritually dead, as Pastor Dave takes a look at the Church of Sardis and how the message applies to our own lives today.

You can click on the link in this audio guide’s description. If you don’t see the link, you can watch or listen to the message by going to the Word By Mail phone app, and typing in Dead or Alive in the search icon. You can do that on the website as well, at wordbymail.com.

Today, I encourage you to read Ephesians 2:1-10. I am just going to read a couple of verses from this section and then pray to close.

Ephesians 2:1, 4-5 (NLT)
1 Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins.
 . . .
4 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much,
5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

Let’s pray.

Father God, how merciful you are, how loving and just! We praise you and thank you that even in our disobedience and our sins, you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to save us, to give us life. We deserved your just judgment on our sin, and instead, Jesus took that full penalty in our place and gave us HIS righteousness so we can stand before you in Christ without fault or blame. By your grace alone, God, have we been saved. Thank you for your love and mercy towards each of us. We love you. In the mighty, powerful, saving name of Jesus, we pray, amen.
