Sermon wk01 - Psalm 118:24
Sermon Notes
Psalm 118:24
Week 1/Day 7
Hi everyone, it’s Pastor Dave with an Alone With God journal guide for you today. If you haven’t ordered your Alone With God journal yet, please do. It will give you a way to meet with the Lord every day of the week. Some days, we’ll just have short audio guides, and three days a week, we’ll do full-blown devotion journal guides. So, get our journal by downloading the Word By Mail phone app or at wordbymail.com.
So, today is Sunday. And I hope you are or were able to go to church today. And if you did go to church, I hope you had your journal with you, and I hope you took notes on the “Sermon Notes” page for this week. On that “Sermon Notes” page in the journal, there’s a place for Key Points from the sermon. A place for Key Verses from the sermon, along with room for Notes and a place to write Prayer Notes for the Coming Week. So, be sure to utilize that page in your journal.
And, if you weren’t able to make it to church today, I would really encourage you to join us for a full sermon today. In the description of this audio guide, there is a link to a special message called “Carried To The Table Part 1.” This is a great two-part message from the “Life of King David,” and it has been an especially emotional message for many people who have watched or listened to it. So, maybe you can listen to Part 1 today and Part 2 next Sunday or sometime during the week.
If you don’t see the link to this message in the description, just open the wordbymail phone app, tap the “Search” icon, and search the title, “Carried to The Table Part 1.” You can also do that on the website at wordbymail.com. And then, you can open your Alone With God journal to your Sermon Notes page for the week, and you can watch or listen to the message, make notes, and learn with us from the “Life of King David.”
Alright, how about a quick scripture and a prayer, and I will leave you to it. Let’s read and pray Psalm 118, verse 24, today. This verse, and the Psalm that goes with it, takes me back to 1979 and the year that my wife and I both got saved.
Psalm 118:24 (NLT)
24 This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Read that again. 24 This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Let’s pray.
Heavenly Father, this is the day that you have made. And so, Lord, we will rejoice and be glad in it. Lord, this is another day that you have promised to be with us. This is another day that you desire to revive and restore us and to fill us afresh and anew with your Holy Spirit. Lord, this is the day that you have made. And so we will rejoice and be glad in it. And Lord, may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you. And may you be glorified in my life. In your mighty name, Jesus, amen.
Amen. Alright, guys. Have a great Sunday. Be blessed today, and I will talk to you soon. Bye-bye.
