All of Me For Your Glory

All of Me For Your Glory
Proverbs 3:9

The focus of the scriptures today is us honoring God with our entire life, including our money. Don’t stop reading because I said the “m” word. How we handle our money is a very real part of our relationship with the Lord.

Today’s verse list comes from the all scripture daily devotional Daily Light April 13 a.m. Pause, meditate, and make notes in a journal or notebook or your Bible.

Proverbs 3:9 (NLT)
9 Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce.

God, you call us to honor you with our lives, with every part of our lives. And so, Lord, I pray that we would. I pray that I would honor you with my wealth, whatever it is – much or little. And with the best part of everything that we produce, everything that I produce. Whatever I’m doing, Lord, may I honor you with the best part of it.

Lord, you said that where our treasure is there our heart will also be. And Lord, we want our heart to honor you. And so, Lord, may we honor you with our treasure in this world, so that our heart may also be with you, and our treasures be in heaven. Lord, may we send our treasures to heaven, Lord, where they will be waiting for us there as an inheritance. Lord, we thank you for those promises, Lord.

May we remember your lesson, Lord, about a giving heart in this next verse.

2 Corinthians 9:6 (NLT)
6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.

Father, God, give us a heart to hear and receive this great truth. Lord, may we look to give of ourselves generously, knowing that we can never out-give you. Lord, whatever you’ve provided, may we give the first portion back to you. And, Lord, may it be a proof to ourselves that our heart is not trying to serve two masters, Lord, but that you have our heart, and you have the treasure that you’ve given us in this life. It all belongs to you, Lord, and we pray it would all honor you.

And so, Lord, your Word says in

1 Corinthians 16:2 (NLT)
2 On the first day of each week, you should each put aside a portion of the money you have earned…

For you, Lord, to honor you. To honor you with the first part of all that you’ve given us, Lord. May we do this as a regular part of our life, as a regular form of worship, Lord. And God, may we not try to dodge this area of obedience by saying, “I’ll wait and give at some special time. Or when some special thing occurs.” May it just be a regular part of our worship to you, Lord.

Hebrews 6:10 (NLT)
10 For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.

God, may we give knowing that you, Lord, are not unjust. And you will not forget how hard we have worked for you and how we’ve shown our love to you, Lord, by caring for other believers. And, Lord, may we continue to show our love for you, Lord, by caring for other believers, God. Trusting you, Lord. Trusting that you will care for us as we show our love to you by caring for other believers. God, give us this heart, Lord. Show us this secret of having a giving heart.

And then, Lord, your Word in Romans 12:1 takes this idea of giving of ourselves for your glory to an absolute, all-encompassing level
.

Romans 12:1 (NLT)
1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

Lord, you call us – all believers – you plead with us to give our bodies to you completely. And, Lord, this word “bodies” means the totality of ourselves. It means “all of our faculties; all of our life” that we would give it all to you, Lord. Not just a measly little percentage, or a tip like a waitress or waiter, but, Lord, we are called to give all that we are to you because of all that you’ve done for us.

And, Lord, may our entire lives, all that we are, may our entire lives be a living and holy sacrifice. And, Lord, a sacrifice is something that is consumed for your glory, something that has been sanctified, set apart, made holy, and then consumed for your glory. And we pray that our lives would be consumed for your glory. And, Lord Jesus, may our lives be the kind of sacrifice that you would find acceptable, Lord. Because this is truly the way to worship you, Lord, this is truly the way we worship you. We give you all of our lives. All of ourselves as a living sacrifice, set apart, sanctified, and then may our lives be consumed for your glory. Lord, may we get this verse.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 (NLT)
14 Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life.
15 He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

Lord, Jesus, your love controls us. It urges us on. It drives us. Since we believe that you, Jesus, died for everyone, we also believe that we who have received your new life, that we have all died to our old life. Lord, Jesus, you died for everyone so that we who receive your new life will no longer live for ourselves. But instead, Lord, we’ll live for you because, Lord, you are the one who died and was raised for us on our behalf. You are the one that took on our sins and paid the full price, and beat death, and the grave, Lord. And you were raised from the grave on our behalf, Lord. And so, Lord, we have died to our old life, by faith. And instead, Lord, we live for you.

And so, Lord, your Word says in

1 Corinthians 10:31 (NLT)
31 So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Whether we eat or drink or whatever we do, may we do it all for your glory, Lord. May we do all that we do, in every area of our lives, including with our money, may we do all that we do for the glory of God. And Lord, we say you are worthy. You are worthy of all of our glory, and all of the honor, and all of the praise. And so, Lord, may our lives reflect these verses and the truths in these verses more and more as we know you better, as we walk closer with you, and as you continue to fill us daily with your Holy Spirit.

Thank you for transforming us, Lord. It’s in your name, Jesus, in your mighty name that we pray, amen.
