Delight in The Word of God
Hi everybody, it’s Pastor Dave from Word By Mail, here on a Monday morning to encourage you with your Alone With God journal. If you don’t have an Alone With God journal, you can get one at wordbymail.com.
This is a unique journal; it’s like nothing we’ve ever seen. It will transform your life as you use it. Just in case you haven’t seen one, when you open it, you get a little two-page instruction, "The Art of Getting Alone With God," and "A Guide To Getting Alone With God." It teaches you everything you need to know. And then, we’re going to send you a Daily Audio Guide to walk you through each of the seven days in each week as you get alone with God.
So, today is Monday morning. That’s where we like to start. The page says, “This Week.” That’s it. And if you notice, it’s mainly blank. There are just two lines. My Prayers Are: and My Spiritual Focus Is:. And guys, it’s really important that we start the week off with a spiritual focus. What is it that I need this week? Where is God working in my life? What is God challenging me to this week? Then, make a plan right up front to focus on that. We can even give you scriptures according to the topic or the subject that you’re focusing on this week. You can find those at wordbymail.com or, better yet, on the Word By Mail app. So grab the app from the app store.
So, this is your day. Take some time. Spend some time alone with God. Get alone with God, think about your week, and list your prayers and your focus.
So, here’s what I want to do. I just want to share a few verses with you to get you going. These verses my mom gave me on a plaque when I started Bible college forty-four years ago. That’s how old I am.
Psalm 1:1-3 (NLT)
1 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.
2 But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night.
That is the key verse right there. They delight in the law of the Lord. For us, that’s the Word of God.
3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.
Those are great verses from Psalm 1, verses 1-3. That’s our desire for you, that you would experience the joy of meditating on God’s Word day and night, every day, that you would be like a tree planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit in each season. That’s our prayer for you. That’s the heart of the Alone With God journal.
So, grab one at wordbymail.com. Download the Word By Mail app, and I’ll be talking you through it. God bless your week. Bye-bye.
