What Am I Grateful For?
Week 9/Day 6
Hi everyone, it’s Tricia. And in today’s Alone With God journal guide, we will be looking at Day 6, in your journal, titled “What Am I Grateful For This Week?” Take a look with me at that first section that says Answered Prayers. This area is where we write down our answered prayers for this week. I love recording when a prayer has been answered because it reminds me of God’s faithfulness. And later, I can look back on what I have written and reflect on the truth that our God is a personal God and a God who answers. There is so much blessing with this.
And all of that leads us right to the empty lines below. This is where I focus my writing on what I am grateful to God for, especially over this past week. When I trust in God and express my gratitude, I am able to see God working for my good, even in unfortunate circumstances. Without trust, faith, and gratitude, it would be easy to harbor anger and bitterness instead of living with joy. It could be the same for you. When we keep a gratitude journal it is so powerful. It strengthens our relationship with the Lord and keeps our hearts close to him. I encourage you to write in this area as well and experience the power of gratitude in your alone time with him.
Today, I am going to read Psalm 100, verses 1-4 from the New Living Translation, and then Daisy is going to close us out in prayer.
Psalm 100:1-4 (NLT)
1 Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
2 Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy.
3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.
Here’s Daisy.
Lord, you are the God of Heaven and of Earth. You are the Maker, the Creator of everything. I enter your gates with thanksgiving. I come humbly before you to your courts with praise. Thank you, Lord. May we exalt your name and bring you glory forever and ever. In Jesus’ name, amen..
