Encountering The Father
Hebrews 6:18-19

Week 8/Day 5

Hi everyone. It’s Tricia, along with Daisy. And we are here to bring you our next guide in the Alone With God journal. This audio guide is for the page that says “Encountering The Father,” which is day five. So, I’d like you to turn there if you would, please. And grab your Bible and a pen. If you don’t have an Alone With God journal, you can order one at wordbymail.com.

So, in the section that says What did God reveal to me in our alone time together this week? personally, I wrote that God never changes his mind. His promises are sure, and God doesn’t lie. I wrote that I can rely on his promises and have hope in Christ and the work he has done so that I have access to God and the hope of eternal life. So, a lot of that was pretty deep. And it’s just a summation of a couple of my Daily Journals for the week. So, you’ll stop, pause this audio guide, and go ahead and write in that area what God revealed to you in your alone time with him and then come back.

And then, What Scriptures is he Highlighting? is the next area. For me, I wrote Hebrews 6, verses 18-19. Those were pretty vital to me this week, and that was part of what God revealed to me. So, those were part of the scriptures that God really used to bring that out to me. I wrote down, “This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.” That came from verse 19. Then I noted that I was in John Chapters 11 and 12 because those were key for me this week as well. So, in this area, you’re going to write down what scriptures God was highlighting for you, where you were studying this week, or in your journal guide in your Daily Journal. So, go ahead and write down whether the whole verse or just the verse references. Take a moment and go ahead and do that, and then come on back.

Alright. The last section is How is he changing me? This can be challenging to write in, but I encourage you to do so. I wrote that I can know that the solid hope of eternity is more important than my daily trials. And where this came into play was, you know, my circumstances, my daily focus. I just get so wrapped up in them, and I’m crying out, “I want things to change!” But if I pause and I just give it to God, if I just pray about it and take a deep breath, then I can refocus. And I know that God actually has this circumstance and that he’s working it out for my good. I don’t have to worry about it. And so, this is where he’s changing me in this area. So, I’m trusting him more. I’m leaning into him both personally and relationally. I’m listening and obeying, and that’s a big change. You know, he’s been developing that in me over the weeks. And so, I found there’s freedom, and there’s deep relationship in that.

So for you, How is He Changing Me? is an area that you are going to write about what he’s doing in your life. Where does he have his finger on you? Go ahead and pause the audio guide now, write in that area, and then come on back one last time.

Alright. If you get your Bibles and turn them to Hebrews Chapter 6, verses 18-19. I’m going to read from the NLT, and then Daisy will close us out with a final prayer.

Hebrews 6:18-19 (NLT)
18 So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.
19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.

Now, here’s Daisy.

God, thank you for your amazing power. Thank you for the work that you are doing in our lives. Thank you for your goodness and for your blessings. Thank you for your great love and your care. Thank you for your sacrifice so that we might have the freedom and the life that you have chosen for us. Forgive us when we don’t thank you enough. Help us to set our eyes on you. Help us to keep you in our hearts. Renew our spirit. Fill us up with your peace and your joy. We love you. And we need you this day and every day. We give you praise. We give you thanks, for you alone are worthy. In Jesus’ name, amen.
