Encountering The Father - wk07 - Psalm 7:17
Encountering The Father
Psalm 7:17
Week 7/Day 5
Hi everyone. It’s Tricia and Daisy with another Alone With God journal guide. And if you have an Alone With God journal, open it to the page that says “Encountering The Father” for this week. And if you don’t have an Alone With God journal and you would like to follow along or even dive deeper into your alone time with God, you can order one at wordbymail.com.
So, I just wanted to share with you what I have on the "Encountering The Father" page for this week. And it says, What did God reveal to me in our alone time together this week? And for me, I wrote that I must wait patiently for God to help me. I can get so impatient trying to rush things that I often just get in the way. For example, I had an incident with airline tickets this week. They didn’t ticket my seats right. And I must have called maybe six or seven times to get it corrected, and I found I just got in the way. So, that’s just one instance of me getting in the way this week and not waiting patiently. So, that’s what God revealed to me this week.
For you, it’s obviously going to be something completely different. And just go ahead, and take the time right now. You can pause this recording and write down what God revealed to you this week, and then come back.
And then, for What scriptures is he highlighting? you would just put down what is really poking at you this week. For me, it was Psalm 42, verses 1, 5, and 11. So, I wrote out the first verse, and then I just made a notation of the references for the other two. And so, that’s what I did this week. But for you, you’re going to write down what scripture he’s highlighting for you. Maybe it was something from your journal guide this week. Maybe it was something you heard. But just take a moment to go ahead and do that, and then come back.
And then, in the How is he changing me? like I’ve always said, you know, it’s difficult to write in this area, but it’s getting easier for me. Right now, it’s recognizing, again and again, my daily need for him, that I can find the courage to meet with him daily. Sometimes I don’t want to make the time in the morning, and then after I do, I’m like, oh! I’m so glad I did that because it changes my focus for the whole day. And then, my other point that he was changing me this week where he is really working on me on this is being faithful to wait on him in all my circumstances. So, that’s what I wrote. Again, it’s going to be something different for you. So, if you would just pause the recording, write in that area how he’s changing you, and then come back for a prayer and a verse from Daisy.
Alright. Thanks for joining us today. Here’s Daisy to close out for today.
Let’s take a moment out of our morning together and offer God a prayer of thanksgiving because he is good.
Psalm 7:17 (NIV)
17 I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High.
Let’s pray.
Lord, I give thanks to you this morning. I give thanks because of your righteousness. Because of your work on the Cross, I now have the righteousness of God. My sins are covered. I am white as snow. So, I will sing your praises today because you are good, and your love endures forever. Thank you for loving me, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
