Romans 15:13
Week 6/Day 1
Hi everyone. It’s Tricia with another Alone With God journal guide. This is day one of this week in your journal, so open your Alone With God journal to the page titled “This Week.” If you don’t have an Alone With God journal, you can order one at wordbymail.com.
This page in the journal is designed to help set our focus for the week. The My Prayers Are: section is where we write our prayer prompts or specific prayers for the week ahead. My prayers may center around God’s direction in my life or the people I am praying for, as well as the circumstances and situations in front of me this coming week. I encourage you to take some time here to look ahead to your week and write what or who you have on your heart to pray for.
The following section says My Spiritual Focus Is: This is a great space to connect with God about where he wants to direct our life in the coming week. What area of my life is he working on and leading me to focus on for the week ahead? What scripture is he bringing to my heart to apply to my life this week? Where is God calling me to focus this week spiritually? Take some time, engage with God in your alone time with him, and write down what he impresses on your heart for the week ahead.
In the back of your Alone With God journal are some scriptures of "Promises to Pray." Turn there, and let’s read and pray through Romans 15, verse 13.
Romans 15:13 (NLT)
13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Let’s pray.
Father God, you are our source of hope. We pray that you would fill us completely, wholly, to overflowing with your joy and your peace, because we trust in you. May we know the source of that joy and peace ever deeper, ever closer, ever stronger. Lord, you are the object of our hope, and you generate hope within us. Hope in the Bible, Lord, is the idea that something is fixed. It is a solid certainty. It is unmovable. You show us, Lord, this hope is not a frivolous wish about the future but instead is an absolute reality. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we pray that you would allow us to overflow with this confident certainty that we may point others to you and your joy and peace. We pray this for your glory, Lord, and in the mighty name of Jesus, who is our source, amen.
Go forward into your week and be blessed. I'll talk with you soon. Take care.
