James 1:5

Week 5/Day 1

Hi everybody. It’s Tricia with another Alone With God journal guide. This is day one of your week in your journal, so open your Alone With God journal to the page titled “This Week.” If you don’t have an Alone With God journal and you would like one, you can order the journal at wordbymail.com.

All right. Let’s look at the page titled “This Week.” There is a place for you to write your prayers for this week. In the My Prayers Are: section, I stop and think ahead for my week. I just ask the Lord for direction for my coming week. And once I have that focus, I write that in a prayer. I also write down prayer prompts for people I am praying for and situations and circumstances that are ahead of me this week.

And then, in the section titled My Spiritual Focus Is: I set aside the time to talk to God about where he is directing my heart this week. I ask about what area of my life, what topic, or what scripture he is calling me to focus on spiritually in this week ahead.

So, this page is a really great way to engage with God, settle in, and lean into what God is doing in your relationship with him this week and in transforming your life. I encourage you to take the time and write down your prayers and spiritual focus for the week.

Now, Daisy is going to join us with a verse, and she will pray to close. Take care, and I’ll talk to you soon.

Here’s Daisy.

James 1:5 (NIV)
9 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

So, let’s pray for wisdom together.

Lord, I ask that you give me a spirit of wisdom. That you bless me with discernment, that I would make choices that honor and glorify you. That you would rule over my day with the mind of Christ so that I may know you better. Thank you. Thank you for wisdom and thank you for knowledge. Thank you that you are generous to supply us with understanding through the work of your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, amen.
