DEVO- Anxiety
Anxiety
Philippians 4:6
Our circumstances do not surprise God. He has always and he will always be in control of our lives. But what do we do when we feel powerless in our circumstances, and the weight of those worries just makes our knees buckle? What do we do when we're afraid? As tempting as it is to feed into that worry and obsess over it and talk to our friends and our loved ones about it, or Google a solution, our first action has to be to give our burdens and our worries to God.
Because that is what we have been commanded to do. In Philippians 4:6, Paul says, Don't worry about anything. Instead, pray about everything. We are called to talk to God and to thank him for all that he's done for us. God will take your worries, and he will shape them into solutions like clay. So, if you're feeling anxious today, let me pray for you.
Heavenly Father, thank you for being omnipotent. Thank you for being the one who takes care of every need and calms every anxious heart. God, I give you my worries and my concerns today because you are in control. You always have a plan. And that plan is always good because you are a good, good Father. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
